From 2012-2015 Dave undertook a research masters at the University of Sydney investigating small group jazz composition and performance focusing on mixing synthetic and acoustic sound sources along with psycho-acoustic effects.

Dave has been the education feature writer for Drumscene magazine, presented at the Australian Percussion Gathering conferences and was selected to present at the All Things Vibraphone conference at the Australian National University.

lessons
Dave offers private lessons in his home studio on weekends and some weeknights. rates are $35/half hour for orchestral percussion (timpani, mallets, snare), drumkit - all styles, jazz improvisation (vibraphone/piano) & world percussion (djembe, congas, darabuka, indian tabla).
